Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton was born in New York. Elizabeth always loved helping the poor as a child. When she was an adult, she married a very wealthy man, and together they had five children. However, after a few years, her husband died and they lost their wealth. Soon after her husband’s death, Elizabeth decided to convert to Catholicism. Elizabeth opened many Catholic schools and orphanages. Elizabeth became a sister, and became known as “Mother Seton”. Elizabeth died in 1821 in Maryland.
