When Life Doesn't Go Your Way - Katrina J. Zeno (Paperback)

Most women have a mental script or plan for their lives. And, of course, that script has a happy ending. However, that s not always what happens. When we are faced with a change in the script whether that be a loss of a loved one, a dream, our health, or some other tragic event how do we respond in faith? Retreat speaker and author Katrina J. Zeno wants us to have a heart of hope, one that presses into God and stays connected instead of drawing away during difficult times. Through personal stories, anecdotes, witnesses, and Scripture, Zeno invites women to recognize God s goodness, presence, and action in their lives. --Each chapter ends with questions for reflection and discussion. --Great for women s faith-sharing group or book club. --Makes a thoughtful gift for someone going through difficult times. Theoretical explanations of the mystery of suffering often don t suffice when someone is suffering. This book is filled with stories of pain, from the simple to the most profound losses. Yet these stories of real people touch us at the emotional and spiritual level, opening the way for the truths about suffering to penetrate us more deeply and in a more satisfying way. Fr. Mitchell Pacwa, SJ, founder of Ignatius Productions, EWTN host Most of us have experienced unexpected turns in our lives, but that doesn't mean that the new path we take can't be just as meaningful and exhilarating, as evidence by the stories in this book. I highly recommend it you won t be disappointed! Terry Polakovic, co-founder and executive director, ENDOW (Educating on the Nature and Dignity of Women) Katrina J. Zeno is a popular speaker and the co-founder of Women of the Third Millennium (wttm.org), a lay organization that promotes the dignity and vocation of women and men. She is the founding coordinator of the John Paul II Resource Center for the Diocese of Phoenix and the author of Every Woman s Journey: Answering Who am I for the Feminine Heart, and The Body Reveals God: A Guided Study of Pope John Paul II s Theology of the Body. Katrina is an avid hiker, Argentine tango enthusiast, and the blest mother of a young-adult son, Michael.

Reading another of Katrina's books prior to this one is what encouraged me to read "When life doesn't go your way". It made me cry, it made me smile, it made me grateful, it made me sad...this book opened up many of my suppressed emotions, hidden from the world to avoid further pain of rejection and judgment. I read this book from beginning to end in one sitting...couldn't put it down! Every soul that has past traumas or struggles with self-worth must read this book that inspires and encourages with the knowledge that The Cross has power! There is value in suffering, beyond our imagination...a treasury of unspoken wealth in graces and blessings!
