Moses Statue (Little Drops)
The Little Drops collectible statues series help your children, grandchildren or godchildren to learn about Jesus, Mary and the Saints.
Moses means "taken from the waters" and was the name given by Pharaoh's daughter, when she found him, still a baby, abandoned on the banks of the Nile river. Moses was adopted by Pharaoh's daughter but he was a descendant of Hebrews. For many years the Hebrews were persecuted and enslaved by the Egyptians. Moses led the Hebrews to freedom, on a forty-year journey, from Egypt to Canaan. Early in the journey, Moses and the Hebrews were trapped by Pharaoh's army by the Red Sea. But Moses lifted up his hand over the sea, and the waters divided themselves in half, creating a way for the Hebrews to pass. When the Egyptians tried to cross, Moses again put his hand over the sea and the waters rejoined, covering the whole army. It was at Mount Horeb, in Sinai, that God gave Moses the Ten Commandments Tablets. Moses died at the age of 120 on the boundary of the Promised Land.
